Do I need to have experience?
The truth is that many of our team are people looking to supplement their income by typing a few lines of text here and there and that’s okay with us. You don’t necessarily need to have any experience in transcription. However, you must be fluent in English with detailed knowledge of correct grammar and punctuation, and have excellent typing skills. We will work with you to find the right fit for both of us.
How do I join?
If you would like to be a transcriber go to our transcriber sign up page and fill out the form. Once you’ve completed that, you can take the English or Spanish transcriber exam. Once you’ve passed the exam, one of our Operations team members will be in touch with you within 48 hours to go over the next steps. If you fail the exam, you can retake it after 24 hours. After you’ve heard back from our Operations team, you’ll be given short chunks of audio to transcribe via the Workhub. Follow the guidelines and we’ll keep track of the audio time transcribed. We pay our transcribers per audio hour every week. We know that you will find the WorkHub so easy, and our method of transcription so efficient, that the time transcription takes is reduced to 1/3 of the time it would usually take.
